Defence-adjacent technology and manufacturing capability

Early-stage Australian company building sovereign manufacturing and prototyping capability — engineering for others first, with dual-use unmanned systems as the proving load. Always under human direction.

The thesis

Australia’s missing middle

The Australian defence ecosystem is well populated at two ends. Global primes integrate systems at scale. Small builders and researchers bring creativity and speed. The layer between them is thin: firms that hold their own design and their own manufacturing, ship dozens to hundreds of units per program, and move at small-company speed while carrying security discipline, quality systems and Australian-owned IP.

That middle position is what ArmaTech is building toward — not a prime integrator, not a pure R&D shop, but a company that does manufacturing and prototyping for others while producing its own platforms. The manufacturing cell, not any single platform, is the lasting asset.

The capability behind defence unmanned systems is the same capability behind equipment for agriculture, mining, healthcare and emergency services — so one cell supports defence and civilian variants of the same underlying platforms.

How we work

Three core works

Contracted R&D and prototyping for others leads. Own platforms progress in parallel as the proving load. Strategic consulting on the physical layer and manufacturing methods closes the loop.

Portfolio

What ArmaTech is building

Six platforms engineered to shared design principles — common componentry, modularity, scalability — so each additional platform costs less than the first, and a production cell tooled for one is largely tooled for the next. Every platform is at its honest current stage; none is manufactured at production rate. All autonomy operates under human direction.

Arachnid / MULE

WORKING PROTOTYPE (TRL 3–4) · MULE CONFIG IN DESIGN

One reconfigurable eight-legged multi-terrain ground platform in two mission configurations — reconnaissance (Arachnid) and logistics (MULE). Legs fold into a compact rover-type form; the architecture scales up and down. Dual-use: disaster response, search and rescue, mining inspection, remote-site logistics.

EXO

IN RESEARCH AND DESIGN · NO BUILD COMMENCED

A powered exoskeleton extending the load, endurance and mobility of the wearer, built on the same modular componentry as the ground platforms. Work focuses on the powered frame first. Dual-use: emergency services, mining, rehabilitation, construction.

CMK

IN RESEARCH AND DESIGN · NO PROTOTYPE

A modular, deployable counter-measures kit against autonomous and technology systems — counter-drone is the first and best-funded segment. Detection and response packaged so a site can be equipped quickly and scaled to size. Dual-use: critical-infrastructure protection, airport and event airspace security.

SwarmPack

IN RESEARCH AND DESIGN · NO PROTOTYPE

Distributed autonomous capability across a coordinated swarm of platforms, with the scalable deployment and storage systems that field it. Dual-use, in concept: wide-area agricultural and environmental survey, bushfire detection, search over large areas.

Diamond Dome

CORE BUILT AND EXERCISED · NOT YET LIVE AS A SERVICE

An internal sovereign, self-hosted security layer giving the company’s information surfaces a clear threat state. Local-first, no single point of failure, trust decided explicitly. Core engine built and exercised on real hardware; not yet live as a continuously operated service.

Interactive Brain

BUILT · IN DAILY INTERNAL USE

Internal AI and knowledge platform — retrieval, knowledge management and reasoning over ArmaTech’s operating knowledge. The working memory of the company: one place where program state, decisions and evidence are captured and queried.

Business model

Capability-first, not product-first

Four reinforcing revenue streams on one manufacturing and R&D capability, sequenced so no single product or contract determines viability. The core business is pre-revenue today; this is the model being built.

1 · Engineering & prototyping services

Paid design, prototyping and build work for defence and commercial customers — begins on today’s workshop, at prototype and small-batch scale.

2 · Defence contracts

Platforms, sub-systems and parts under defence and government programs, as capability — including manufacture — is demonstrated.

3 · IP licensing & dual-use variants

ArmaTech designs licensed to approved partners for production, including civilian variants, as designs mature.

4 · Capability access for others

Paid access to production lines, test equipment and certification capability for vetted partners, once the Sovereign Manufacturing Hub exists.

Manufacturing model being built: automated, circular and additive. Additive manufacturing is the core process; automation is introduced only after a step is proven by hand; platforms are designed for repair, remanufacture, traceability and material recovery. Today the work is light-industrial at prototype scale. Production-scale equipment requires larger premises than the current Fortitude Valley site can appropriately house — that is a funded roadmap step (Horizon 3), not a present claim.

Capital

The raise

ArmaTech is raising A$10 million, staged in three milestone-gated tranches. Capital is released as each stage of the plan is proven. Use of funds, valuation and terms sit at the confidential tier — available to qualified parties on request. This page is the public introduction to the due diligence pack.

Honest stage

Where the company stands

ArmaTech is a prototyping and R&D company today, not yet a manufacturer. Exactly three systems have been prototyped or built: the Arachnid/MULE core platform, Interactive Brain, and the Diamond Dome core. EXO, CMK and SwarmPack are in research and design. Nothing beyond this list is claimed.

Incorporated 2 January 2025 (ABN 86 683 390 758 · ACN 683 390 758), bootstrapped on founder and family funding — no external equity, no grants, no revenue from core engineering and platform work. Incidental site income (car parking and space sublicensing) sits with Aussie Co-Lab, a planned shared-facility venture not yet officially set up and currently operated as a project of ArmaTech.

In under two years: an operating facility in Fortitude Valley, a prototype workshop, the lead platform at working-prototype stage (TRL 3–4), internal operating systems stood up, a DISP membership application in progression (not accredited), TAKHACK 2025 sponsored and Indo-Pacific 2026 confirmed. The move from prototyping to manufacturing requires external capital, and raising it is the company’s immediate priority.
